Highlights of Elza van den Heever’s 2019/20 season include role debuts in La Vestale (Julia) at the Theater an der Wien, Wozzeck (Marie) at the Metropolitan Opera, and Die Frau ohne Schatten (Die Kaiserin) singing it first in Paris and then in Rotterdam presented in concert. Later in the season, she revisits the role in a staged production at Dutch National Opera. She also stars as Leonora in Fidelio in Paris under the baton of Simone Young, and lastly, sings Elsa von Brabant in Lohengrin at the Opernhaus Zürich.
In the 2018/19 season, Ms. van den Heever’s engagements led her to the Metropolitan Opera with Clemenza di Tito (Vitellia), to Oper Frankfurt with Norma (title role), to the Wiener Staatsoper with Lohengrin (Elsa), and to the Lyric Opera of Chicago with Elektra (Chrysothemis), as well as further concerts with Simone Young in Lausanne, with Bertrand de Billy in Berlin, and Kirill Petrenko in Bregenz.
